Early Christmas 2023 #2

This year, I'm trying to make Christmas and holiday cards gradually--a few every month--so that there's time enjoy the process and play with different ideas.

The first 2 cards use products that are available during Sale-a-bration, but today is the last day! They'll still be available tomorrow, but they won't be free anymore! As always, links to the supply lists can be found at the end of the post.

This card uses one of the Sweet Songbirds. It was stamped with Poppy Parade ink onto Poppy Parade cardstock to create a cardinal, and I cut it out with the free Songbird Builder Punch. The bird is on a vellum circle to set it off from the background, which was embossed with the Merry Melody folder. The sentiment comes from Cottage Wreaths.

The next card was cut with a die from the Eden set. I got those wonderful color variations because I used one of the sunset screens from the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper! Both of those are free selections during Sale-a-bration. I needed a Thanksgiving card, but there are green designs in the paper pack that would make it easy to convert this to a Christmas card. Six of the small rectangular foliage frames are layered together at different angles to create the look of a circular wreath. I used vellum again to set it off against more of the patterned paper. The sentiment and bow come from the Cottage Wreaths bundle, and I embellished with some retired Gilded Gems.

I've shared this last card on my Instagram and in the Facebook group already. It's a guac-mas tree made from the Taco Fiesta stamp set. The middle avocado in the 2nd tier from the top was stamped first. Then I masked it and stamped the other 3 that are next to it. Next, I stamped the row of chips, and then the bottom row of avocados. I stamped and fussy cut out the chilis, limes, and a few extra chips to decorate the tree. You can try to mask for those, but it was too hard for me to pre-plan their placement. The guac bowl is stamped and cut out separately because I wanted it raised on dimensionals. The images are all colored with Blends markers. For the sentiment, I stamped just the “HO” letters twice before using the rest of the sentiment. The star comes from the Give it a Whirl dies, and the label is from Sending.

I hope you enjoyed these and have some inspiration for cards of your own!
