Hi! I’m Vy with Crafting Daily Dose. Welcome to this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, featuring alternatives for the May 2026 Soarkling Celebrations kit.
This kit included supplies for 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs. Kits always come with an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives. As of today, refills are still available.
I love bridge fold cards because they are such an easy and versatile way to create dimension, resulting in a card that folds flat and then can stand up on its own. I’ve included the basic measurements below, and I have two versions to share with you. In each case, I trimmed down a cardbase from the kit by cutting off the bottom 1-1/4” and trimming off 1/4” from each side.
Measurements:
- Kit cardbase
8" (W) x 4-1/4" (H), scored at 1-1/4", 2-1/2", 5-1/2", and 6-3/4” along the long side
- “Bridge” element
5-1/2" (W)
- Coordinating cardstock for message panel layer on back
3" (W) x 4" (H)
- White Willow cardstock for message panel on back
2-3/4" (W) x 4" (H)

For this first card, I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto the round label and then repeatedly dragged the Misty Moonlight ink spot across the whole thing to color the background. I used a towel to buff the letters afterwards to remove any excess ink.
The “bridge” that spans across the card is created from the 2 large colorful fireworks die cuts, plus the round sentiment label, with some overlap between them, so that the total width adds up to 5-1/2”. I made sure that the card can still fold down flat as I adhered this. Next, I added 3 of the small fireworks die cuts and 3 of the embellishments.
To finish the card, I adhered a layer of coordinating Misty Moonlight cardstock to the center back panel. I used the Wonderful Scenes die to cut out a fireworks burst in the corner of the White Willow message panel, and I blended a bit of Daffodil Delight ink in the center of it.

This next version of the bridge fold card shows off the beautiful lanterns. In this case, the bridge cross the top is made from a piece of Window Sheet acetate. I started with a piece that is 4” (W) x 1” (H) and then trimmed it as shown below. It doesn’t have to be exact, so I just cut it by hand with scissors. This creates little tabs on the end.

After scoring and folding the cardbase, I used my paper trimmer to cut vertical slits that are just a bit longer than 1/2”, right along the outer score lines. I then temporarily folded down the tabs on the end of the Window Sheet piece so that they’d fit through the slits. Once the tabs are unfolded, the piece stayed in place. It’s intentionally cut a bit wider than it needs to be so that there’s some leeway as the card opens and closes. Once this was in place, I used glue dots to adhere the large and the medium lantern die cuts.
The sentiment strip on the bottom forms an additional “bridge” for this card. It is 5-1/2” (W) x 3/4” (H). I used part of an envelope flap because I had already cut it for something else, but you could of course use a piece of the cardbase that had been cut off from the bottom. I stamped the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss ink. I couldn’t resist adding a few of the embellishments too.

On the back, there’s a layer of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, and I added one more small lantern die cut.

For my last project, I cut apart the cardbase with thelightbulbs. I stamped my sentiment onto the front panel using Basic Black ink. I used the back panel of the original cardbase to create a pillar so that the lamppost could really stand out, making sure that the pillar folds down flat.

To make my own string of lights, I used a Basic Black Blends marker to color Linen Thread. I attached one end to the pillar with a glue dot and wrapped the other end around the right edge of the card panel. Each of the 3 light bulb die cuts was adhered to the string with a glue dot, and then I added a very small scrap of paper behind that so that the lights wouldn’t stick to the cardbase.
Once the string of lights was completed, I glued the whole panel onto a Misty Moonlight cardbase and added a message panel to the inside.

Measurements:
- Misty Moonlight cardstock
5-1/2" (W) x 8-1/2" (H), 4-1/4” along the long side
- White Willow cardstock
5-1/4" (W) x 4" (H)
- Kit cardbase front
5-1/2" (W) x 4-1/4" (H)
- Kit cardbase back for pillar
2-1/2" (W) x 4-1/4" (H), scored at 1/2", 1", 1-3/4", and 2-1/4" along the short side.
