Hi! I’m Vy with Crafting Daily Dose. Welcome to this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, featuring alternatives for the August 2025 Farmhouse Florals kit.

This kit included supplies for 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs. Kits always come with an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives. As of today, refills are still available for this kit.

When I saw the this kit, I knew it was just write for an interactive card that was just my type! For this alternative, I added cardstock and some embellishments from my stash.

I trimmed down the cardbase with the typewriter image (measurements below) and saved the back to use for the mechanism. Using the craft knife tip for my Take Your Pick tool, I cut a narrow slit on the typewriter (see arrow). You could also use your paper trimmer to carefully make the cut instead.

From the back of the cardbase, I cut out 3 pieces for the interactive mechanism. The largest piece (we’ll call it the tab) is the one that pulls out of the typewriter, and I gently tore the top edge. I glued the more narrow piece to the bottom edge of the paper tab—this acts as a stop to prevent the tab from pulling completely out. The remaining piece acts as a collar to help guide the tab as it is pulled. To create the collar, I loosely folded the ends down around the tab, making sure it wasn’t too tight. I glued the ends of the collar to the back of the typewriter panel, just under the slit (2 views).

I stamped a message onto the paper tab, being mindful of which part of the message shows before and after the tab is pulled. Then, I threaded the tab through the collar and the slit from the back. Next, I put Foam Adhesive Strips around the back of the panel. You can also use the mini Dimensional foam stickers from the kit, spacing them out and being sure to put some along the bottom edge of the tab so that the piece doesn’t fall out.

Finally, I adhered a piece of Secret Sea cardstock onto a Basic White Thick cardbase and layered the typewriter panel on top of it. I added part of a flower die cut to the front and a couple to the inside of the card. Lastly, I finished with a few embellishments from my stash.
