Good Things Come in Small Packages: A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop

Hi! I’m Vy with Crafting Daily Dose. Welcome to this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, featuring alternatives for the December 2022 From the North Pole kit.

This kit included supplies for 16 gift card boxes—2 each of 8 different reversible designs. Kits always come with an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives.

As of today, refills are available to subscribers.

For this card, I used the kit components to create the look of a bakery box on the front. I just loved the cupcake die cut, and the heart stamp reminded me of cookies! The cardbase was an add-on, which is no longer available, but you can use Balmy Blue cardstock instead and add a Basic White message panel for the inside.

Measurements:

- Kit Bellyband

  • 3" (W) x 4-1/2" (H), trimmed so that existing scored lines are at 2-1/4" and 2-3/4" along the long side

  • 3" (W) x 1-3/4" (H)

-Basic White Cardstock

  • scraps to fit sentiments

-Tissue Paper

  • 6" (W) x 1-3/4" (H), scored at 1-1/2" and 4-1/2" along the long side

If you don't have the add-on cardbase, you can instead use

- Balmy Blue Cardstock

  • 5-1/2" (W) x 8-1/2" (H), scored at 4-1/4" along the long side

-Basic White Cardstock

  • 5-1/4" (W) x 4" (H)

The inks used were Balmy Blue, Blushing Bride, and Calypso Coral. To create the plain hearts, I used the back (smooth) side of the stamp. The sentiments were stamped with Memento Basic Black ink and cut out. The sentiment for the outside fussy-cut and elevated with dimensionals and placed so that it could act as a latch to help keep the "bakery box" closed.

For a finishing touch, I added a bow made with twine from the kit, along with some Heart Pearls.

Thank you so much for visiting! Don’t forget to follow the hop to see other creative ideas from our team!

January 10th is the last day to sign up for this month’s kit, called Key to My Heart. This kit makes 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs. We'll get a Fresh Freesia mini ink cube! There's an add-on available to help make matching treat boxes. If you‘re in the U.S. and would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me, I’ll send you a handmade thank you card, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I post new ideas!
