Key to My Heart: Extras

Paper Pumpkin is Stampin' Up's monthly subscription box. January's "Key to My Heart” kit included supplies for 9 cards--3 each of 3 different designs. Kits include an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives.

Because I mostly make alternatives from my kits, I usually end up with extra die cuts and cardbases, so I have a few more ideas to share . As of today, refills for the kit are still available.

This first alternative is just a different arrangement of pieces from the kit.

For the next card, I turned one of the labels over and heat embossed the ends and the sentiment. Coordinating Fresh Freesia ribbon adds dimension and texture.

Here is another example of changing colors on the die cuts. I stamped on the back of a lock using Calypso Coral ink and then used Versamark ink to add gold heat embossing to the top of the lock, as well as the stamped image of the keyhole. The key is a sticker from the coordinating treat boxes. I also used a Calypdo Coral Blends marker to color in the ends of the sentiment label. I love having matching coloring tools!

This card uses part of an envelope from the kit, and I stamped the sentiment on the plain white side of a label. The background was created with the Timeworn Type embossing folder. After the panel was embossed, I brushed a Whisper White ink pad over it to highlight the raised areas.

For more ideas using this kit, check out the Z-fold card, magic slider card, love locks card, gatefold card, and mini treat box I shared previously.

February 10th is the last day to sign up for this month’s kit, called Sunshine & Smiles. This kit makes 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs, and we'll get a Mango Melody mini ink cube! If you‘re in the U.S. and would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me, I’ll send you a handmade thank you card, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I post new ideas!
