Lovely Lavender: A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop

Hi! I’m Vy with Crafting Daily Dose. Welcome to this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, featuring alternatives for the January 2024 Lovely Lavender kit.

This kit included supplies for 8 cards, 4 each of 2 designs, along with 4 tags. Kits always come with an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives. As of today, refills are still available for this kit.

I love how the preprinted panel for one of the cards is punched out to create a window opening and becomes a tag for a separate project. The tag can double as a pretty bookmark, and I wanted to keep it together with the card so that it can be pulled out as a little gift. This is a really simple modification!

I added a small piece of Basic White cardstock to match the decorative strip from the kit--both are 4" (W) x 3/4" (H). I attached the decorative strip to the front of the panel and matched the Basic White strip to the back of the panel, making sure to adhere them just up to the edge of the window. This created a little pocket into which I slid the bookmark. There is enough tension to hold the bookmark in place, but it can be easily removed. I stamped a hidden sentiment onto the cardbase so it can be seen through the window.

I used the die cuts from the kit but arranged them a little differently, making sure to adhere the bottoms of the leaves and flowers on the bookmark securely, so that they wouldn't snag when the bookmark slides out.

For a finishing touch, I added some Tinsel Gems. As always, the link to supplies can be found at the end of this post.

Thank you so much for visiting! Don’t forget to follow the hop to see other creative projects from our team!

February 10th is the last day to sign up for this month’s kit, called Sweet Springtime. It makes 9 projects, 3 each of 3 designs, including cards and gift boxes. If you‘re in the U.S. and would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me, I’ll send you a handmade thank you card, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I post new ideas!
