No Matter the Weather

I don't know what the weather has been like where you are, but it's been really hot here in Texas, and we sure could use some rain! It's not a great time to be outside, but it's perfect for retreating into air-conditioned comfort and doing some crafting. Luckily, Stampin' Up's Kits Collection is on sale through August, up to 30% off and while supplies last. Today I'm sharing one of my all-time favorite kits.

I really love the images and sentiments in the No Matter the Weather kit, and the stamping is particularly fun! Plus we can't forget those adorable raindrop embellishments!

First, here are the set of cards as originally designed:

As I was working, I accidentally dropped my inked stamp onto the cardbase with the boots and umbrella, making a huge mess! Not wanting it to go to waste, I fussy-cut the image and added it to a different cardbase, elevating it with Dimensional foam stickers.

These next 2 cards use the pretty envelopes as backgrounds. On this Petal Pink card, I disguised the score line from the envelope with twine going horizontally across. the splatter image was stamped with Garden Green ink to represent grass.

On this card, the hatched lines are stamped with Garden Green ink and the clouds are Balmy Blue. You can stamp off onto scraps first before stamping onto your project to get a lighter version of the image so that the clouds look more varied.

This last card was inspired by Debbie Henderson. On the inside Basic White layers, I stamped the hatched lines using Basic Gray ink to represent the ground. I created the pop-up closer to the bottom of the card, aligning the side edges of the mechanism with the edges of the Basic White layers underneath. I cut apart the boots die cut, using 4 for the inside and leaving 1 for the front of the card. I stamped the front panel and then trimmed it down a bit so that there'd be an even border against the Basic White layer. The raindrop embellishments and a little bit of twine added the finishing touches to this easy pop-up card.
