Paper Pumpkin is Stampin' Up's monthly subscription box. January's "Special Delivery” kit contained supplies for 9 cards, 3 each of 3 cards. Kits always include an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, and adhesives.
The intended projects are always fun, but I love to find different ways to use these versatile kits.
The kit included 3 very large die cuts shaped like postage stamps. I used two of them as card fronts, as they were intended to be, but I created different versions. To add some richness to the background, I blended in Soft Seam Foam ink and stamped with Smoky Slate ink. I kept the design simple but used Dimensionals for depth, and in the case of the white flowers, I stacked 2 die cuts together.

I sliced the remaining postage stamp die cut in half at an angle:

These pieces were layered with other die cuts and added to cardbases from the kit.

To create dimension for the rose, I trimmed off the outer row of petals from a second flower and stacked the remaining center on top.

February 10th is the last day to sign up for next month’s kit, called Celebrate Spring. This kit makes 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs, and it includes twine. It will coordinate with the Easter Joy suite. If you‘re in the U.S. and would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me, I’ll send you a handmade thank you card, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I post new ideas!
